limited edition Melqui's Brown (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) on 140g solid Brown vinyl

Brown is Melqui’s sophomore long-play and the official soundtrack for the 1986 Mexican- American romantic comedy-drama film of the same name. Brown is the third film written and directed by Arnoldo Marron. Produced by Polish-American entrepreneur Mylo Brozovinsky, Brown had moderate success in the United States, it grossed $32,779 ($8,194 per screen) in its opening weekend. Playing at 20 theatres at its widest point. Earning generally favorable reviews, the film was quietly forgotten until a partially censored Japanese laserdisc generated enough interest online for an official release on DVD in 2007. Through this re-release. The film was promoted with a controversial campaign designed by Dutch artist and graphic designer Pieter de Bruin. Brown’s marketing posters contained slogans such as ‘Don’t step on it!’ ‘Achieve brownness of mind and body!’ ‘Have you seen Mr.Brown?’ Music Melqui, fresh from their debut LP “Your Smile, S’il Vous Plaît”. Recorded ‘Brown’ in three days entirely live in the La Vall d’Ora mountain range. Due to Brown’s box office performance, the promise of a soundtrack album from Chum Records in the end titles of the film was scratched. Some of the film songs would, in 2008, surface on the bootleg compilation’ Brown: ‘Don’t Look Down’ but not until this very record would a substantial amount of the film's soundtrack, see commercial release.
